That, and also many of the details came out pretty rough from trying to print it all in one piece (which is only really suited for an SLS printer).Īll in all, I am extremely happy with the way it turned out, and no matter what happens, I’m glad I spent the time to make this thing. On top of that, hiding all the pins and making it all work within the 90 x 100 x 120mm space was a huge challenge, but after going through many different joint iterations, I finally settled with what I believe to be the best possible joint mechanisms for the Sinterit SLS printer.Īs for printability, I was able to print the figure on my FDM printer, but because it lacks the precision, strength, and freedom of supports that the Sinterit SLS printer has, many of the parts either broke from becoming fused together. Now with this design, I wanted to make it as close to the original B2 Super Droid as possible while also allowing for the figure to be fully articulated (Shoulder, Elbow, Hip, Knee, and Foot). And in comparison to the 2 Destiny guns I’ve done, this model was actually harder to model in terms of the complexity of the surfaces, so that’s saying a lot. This was definitely one of the hardest models I've EVER done in Solidworks as it took me just about the whole month to do totaling to over 70 hours to complete.

Organic leaders and/or (super) tactical droids were needed to lead them. Here I proudly present my fully articulated B2 Super Battle Droid from the upcoming game Star Wars Battlefront 2!Ĭlick here to watch what it took to make this thing! Due to their basic processors, B2 droids had limited tactical insight.

The B2 had a rather aggressive personality, and didn't care about other droids when fighting off enemies. The right arm of the droid could be easily converted to fit other weapons. External weapons were rarely used by B2 droids. The B2 was standardly equipped with a wrist blaster that could be activated by the droid within seconds. Later models were even upgraded with additional armor. The armor could withstand most light blasterfire. The armor of the B2 protected all of its essential parts. It also had more independant programming, better armament and had overal better armor than it's B1 counterpart. The B2 model didn't require such a control signal. Due to their dependence on a central control signal, the droid army that invaded Naboo was ultimately defeated after the control ship was destroyed.

The B2 Super battle droid was an upgraded version of the B1 Battle droid.
